Autumn arrives at the Teatro Circo Apolo with more than 20 shows
In September, the season will begin with the renowned improvisation show, Corta el Cable Rojo, which promises unexpected situations and impossible challenges. Next, audiences can see Pensionistas, a moving comedy by Gabriel Esparza about friendship and the boldness of three retired women.
October will be a special month: in addition to the 12 shows of the Festival Utópolis hosted by the Theatre, there will be a presentation of Alberto Fonseca's work, Hoy Es El Día, which portrays a true story between a father and a son through the myth of Ulysses and the epic of football. Then El Lindo Don Diego will take the stage, a comedy that conceals a profound reflection on serious aspects of life: our weaknesses, our cowardice, and our relationships. We recommend not missing this play, in which you can laugh at the melodramas of a family that falls victim both to the protagonist's arrogance and to their own self-interest. October will continue with Perdido en los 80s – Menuda Movida, a monologue full of nostalgia and humor that takes us back to an era that marked an entire generation. A show for those who grew up in the 80s and for those who want to understand why it was so special. To close out the month, the comedy Qué Difícil Es will be presented. Starting from an unexpected event, the characters will experience a whirlwind of memories and confessions that lead to a fun chaos surrounding their fears and hopes.
November will welcome us with 9 shows. The first of these, Entre Bobos Anda el Juego, a work by the renowned company Morboria with a plot of drama, hidden identities, jealousy, and misunderstandings, set in a period style. Then it will be the turn of the youngest audiences (and all those fans of the series!): the theatre will premiere Stranger World, The Musical. Laughter will return with Edu Soto's show, Más vale solo que ciento volando «Revolution». A show of monologues, musical comedy, and improvisation in 90 minutes, featuring countless characters. Next comes the show Callas Diva, which tells the life of the great opera diva through her loves, disappointments, and suffering. The tangled plots will also return with Heredarás el Caos, a comedy about two sisters and an inheritance, where ambition, family drama, and absurdity coexist in the same space. For the youngest audiences, El Ladrón De Arabia will be presented, a tribute to the Disney classic, Aladdin, with melodies full of magic and costumes fit for Eastern palaces. In the evening, audiences can see Generación Millenial, a musical that tells the story of a group of friends reuniting who grew up together and, now as adults, discover that staying close is no longer automatic. November will conclude with two shows: Cándido, the hilarious obstacle course of a man condemned to be ridiculously good in a brilliantly selfish world, and El Expreso De Los Naranjales, which starts from the question: What would Federico García Lorca have written if he had accompanied Doña Rosita beyond her youth? This drama reunites us with the young Doña Rosita, la soltera, now become a nun, Sor Rosa.
December will begin with the show Dreaming Bubbles, starring the renowned artist White Dream, awarded a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for skill and creativity in the art of soap bubbles. A perfect fusion of art, science, and magic, for all audiences. Then, as Christmas approaches, comes Trivox - Style Il Divo, a warm, elegant concert full of Christmas spirit that has toured all across Spain. There will also be several performances of the play Miénteme, an original, fresh, and provocative comedy that tackles, with humor and without moralizing, our complex relationship with truth and lies. And to close out the year, what better than a show to watch as a family: El Secreto de Los Elfos, a musical nominated for Best Children's Show at the XII "JUAN MAYORGA" AWARDS.
